College students looking for alternative to traditional spring break

BOULDER, CO, February 06, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Intrepid Travel, one of the world's leading small group adventure tour operators, is putting a new spin on the traditional spring break by encouraging students to explore the real Mexico.

While so many others will be in Cancun just lounging on the beach or at the bar, Intrepid Travel will give spring breakers the opportunity to do something different, do something real and experience something more lasting than just a hangover this spring break.

Spring Break Mexico
Intrepid Travel will make textbooks jump to life as students are given the chance to discover Mexico's Mayan and Spanish cultures on a 9 day journey of ruins, pueblos and beaches. The itinerary includes time to chill-out in Playa del Carmen, scramble up the 2,000 year-old walls of Mayan pyramids of Chichen Itza, explore the jungle temples of Palenque and soak up a bit of Caribbean paradise in Tulum.

Included activities: Orientation walk in Merida with your leader, Chichen Itza Ruins, Palenque Ruins.

Optional activities: Scuba & Snorkeling, bicycle rentals and additional guided tours of ruins.

Spring Break Mexico departs on Saturdays - March 7 & 21. Price is $750 per person. Groups are small (Minimum 8/Maximum 16) and you must be a student.
